What is Tapas–Saadhana?
Tapas–Saadhana is a long-running social mission run under Rashtrotthana Parishat.
Tapas (started in 2012): focused on helping boys become IIT-level engineers.
Saadhana (started in 2017): focused on helping girls become doctors and other medical/health professionals.
The idea is simple but powerful: Take academically strong students from economically weaker backgrounds, and give them everything they need — coaching, schooling, meals, hostel, books — fully free. So money never becomes the reason talent gets wasted.
Rashtrotthana Parishat has been working in education, health, service, and culture for over six decades. Tapas–Saadhana is one of its flagship education efforts aimed at long-term social upliftment, not just short-term coaching.
What exactly do selected students get?
This is not “discounts.” This is not “scholarship for fees only.” This is full support for two years.
Under Tapas (for boys):
2 years of IIT-JEE coaching.
PU education (CBSE syllabus) delivered in collaboration with BASE.
Free hostel accommodation.
Free food.
Free academic materials / study resources.
The total package is built around one target: cracking IIT-JEE and shaping future engineers.
Under Saadhana (for girls):
2 years of NEET/CET coaching.
PU education (CBSE syllabus), again with BASE as academic partner.
Free hostel accommodation.

This arm is focused on producing medical professionals — doctors especially — from families that usually never get that chance.
In both cases, the training is not just “sit in a class.” It’s structured, residential, disciplined PU + entrance prep designed to compete at national level.
And yes, it is provided completely free of cost to the selected students.
Who can apply for Tapas–Saadhana 2026–27?
The eligibility rules are very clear and meant to keep the program focused on real need and real potential:
Current class:
You must currently be studying in 10th standard.
Academic performance:
You should have scored at least 90% marks in your 9th standard annual exam.
Stream preference based on gender:
Boys can apply for IIT-JEE coaching + PU (CBSE) under the Tapas track.
Girls can apply for NEET/CET coaching + PU (CBSE) under the Saadhana track.
Family income limit:
Your total family annual income must not exceed ₹3,00,000.
This is important. The program is specifically aimed at students who are talented but financially constrained.
Location:
The program runs from Bengaluru, Karnataka.
If you don’t meet these conditions, you won’t be shortlisted. If you do meet them, you should 100% apply.
How much does it cost to apply?
There is no application fee.
Let’s repeat that, because this is where people get suspicious: Filling the application form is free. Writing the entrance test is free. Being selected means your education, coaching, stay, food, materials = free.
This is not a marketing trap from a coaching center. This is a social education initiative.

Why this program matters
Let’s be honest about how India works:
Private IIT coaching and NEET coaching is brutally expensive. Families earning ₹20,000–₹25,000 per month can’t pay ₹1–2 lakh a year for training, plus hostel, plus food, plus books.

Your 9th standard marks / report card (proof of ≥90%).
Proof of family income (≤ ₹3,00,000 per year).

After applying, you’ll be called for the Tapas–Saadhana entrance test scheduled on 25 December 2025.
If you clear that, there will likely be further rounds like interviews / verification of documents.
